Dirt, Slime & Volcanoes - A giveaway!

​  Dirt, slime and erupting volcanoes. Add in Little Ponies somewhere and I think you have all of Kay's favorite things!

  So getting the opportunity to try out Mindware's new Science Academy Curious Kids Chemistry Kits for kids was kind of a no-brainer. They're technically recommended for kids 8 and up, but I figured with her love of experiments this would be something she'd love!

     First things first: everything you need comes with the kit, including googles. (It's not really an *experiment* unless you get to rock your goggles!) Sometimes you need to add a bit of water, but otherwise everything required is in the box, so no searching around for the ingredients (phew!).  

  The instructions for each experiment are fully illustrated, which we found helpful.

  We gave the volcano kit a try first and I read out what the booklet said as Kay did all the work. After the first eruption, she wanted to do her own thing. "Will it be more exploding if I add more of this?" "Let's try two scoops of this!"

​  Far be it from me to discourage scientific explorations. (Though I do prefer this particular type of exploration to be done outside...and not in a white shirt...)

  Admittedly, Kay might still be a little on the young side for this one. (Or she may just have a life-long aversion to following instructions. We'll have to see...) But there's no denying that science-loving kids are going to love these kits!
