When I saw these adorable "candy huggers" at Lia Griffith, I had an inspired DIY moment. I didn't want to pay for them (okay, also a cheap-o moment, apparently...) - I wanted to *make my own* and, even better for you, share them with my readers!
It took me a while to find just the right image, but I finally came across it at Pixel Scrapper. No surprise, really. I find all kind of cute things there! With a few adjustments, this bunny shape was just what I had been searching for.
The easiest way by far to make these is with a cutting machine. I cut them out with my Cricut on light blue and pink cardstock.
(I made an easy SVG file that you're welcome to use!)
But if you have the patience you could always print and cut them out by hand as well.

Hugging them around the candy was easy. I rolled up a piece of tape, stuck it to the candy, and then folded each arm over so that it would adhere.
For extra security you could also add a little tape or glue to the back of the candy (probably a good idea if you're going to be transporting these anywhere. These ones didn't get any further than my kitchen!)
I'm thinking these cuties are going to be finding their way into Kay's lunchbox a little closer to Easter. Maybe not the healthiest snack they're holding but we all deserve chocolate sometimes!
To make your own you can:
Print out the PDF version or use the SVG file. Either way, enjoy and, as always, I'd love to hear what you think!
