Easter Bunny Wall Hanging

How can  you tell when I've been playing around with my Cricut? Well, for one, my shapes come out looking like what they're supposed to!

While these bunnies look like an easy enough shape to cut out, I'm betting that they would look more like misshapen snowman if I hadn't had Cricut to help me out. I'm glad I did, then, because these look great on our wall (and were so easy to make!).
Supplies:
  • Cardstock
  • Wooden dowel
  • Parachute cord
  • Scissors

(The dowels and cord came from our friends at CraftProjectIdeas.com!)

The hardest part of this project was finding a bunny silhouette I liked. I knew just what I was looking for so it took a few minutes to find it. But once I did, and had it cut, I was ready to go.

I've had these wooden dowels for awhile without really knowing what to make with them but they were perfect for this. I simply glued the bunny's ears onto the dowel and held them on with clothespins until it was dry. I was surprised it worked, to tell you the truth - no special glue, no fancy anything. Just pinching the little guy's ears with the clothespins (really, didn't hurt him one bit!).

The parachute cord was thicker than what I absolutely needed but I had just gotten it and I loved the color...so parachute cord it was! A thinner thread would have been easier to knot more securely, but for our purposes of keeping it in one place on a wall, this worked out just fine.

I was personally pretty happy with them at this point. But then I came across a bow from a hair clip we had to throw away. And it seemed like an adorable fit to add to the bunny. Then the second bunny looked plain without *something* so she got a fuzzy white pom pom tail.

Since they're only made of paper, these two won't store well for next year. But that will just give me an excuse to try this one again (maybe with burlap?).
