5 Gift Ideas That Deserve A Look

Now, I admit, I usually skip over gift idea lists (or, at least, I did until this year when I'm looking everywhere for ideas!) - so why in the world would I put one together? Well, this isn't your ordinary "your kids must have this" list. These are products or services I personal love - but I don't think get enough attention. I want you to know about them because maybe - just maybe - you'll love them too!
And I want to hear what you have to say - have you tried any of these? What is a product or company that you love that doesn't get enough love?

This post contains some affiliate links. That means if you click a link and purchase something, I get a small referral fee. Still, only my top picks made this list!
Unlike other subscription boxes, I like that this one is all about animals (the first of its kind I've come across!) It comes with hands-on ways for preschoolers to learn about different animals but have fun doing it. (They're having a special until December 12, 2014 where you get your first box free when you purchase a 6- or 12-month subscription. Use code: HOLIDAY.)
What impressed me about this shop was the pretend play packages. Each comes with everything you need to set an imagination into action - a dress-up costume, a book, and an activity to go with a theme. (We got the astronaut package that came with dried ice cream - Kay was thrilled!) They also have products you can buy individually, if the package deal isn't your thing, and I love the recipes and activity suggestions they provide for free in the Playroom
A quality children's book and all you need to make a craft that goes along with it. I love that it comes with questions to ask while you read the story and the book options to choose from are some of my favorites!

We won a 3 month subscription to Green Kids Crafts and I'm so impressed I think I'm going to order a subscription of our own. The open-ended activities are aimed at kids 3-8 years old and challenge them to be creative and think in new ways, all with eco-friendly materials.
Used to be that painting was a full-body experience in our house. When ever the paint would come out, it would inevitably have to end in a bath. Fortunately Kay has gotten better at this (I'm sure her kindergarten teacher is grateful for that as well!) but before she improved these EZPaints allowed us to have a mess-free painting, something I hadn't even thought possible with this kiddo! They're perfect for traveling because - get this - they really don't spill. Really! Plus, they're great for fine motor skills (that's just a happy bonus!)
