Welcome to day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas Series! I have joined up with a group of some of my favorite bloggers to bring you kid-friendly crafts or activities to celebrate each of the 12 Days of Christmas! (Don't worry...you don't have to know the song to join in. I always get the lyrics confused!)

I admit, when I went to do these activities for the 12 days of Christmas, I had to Google the lyrics. How many drummer's drumming? What about those geese a laying? And wasn't there something about turtles? (Oh, turtle doves...I was close!)

And so it was with these goose craft. I had the craft done and then had to go check...ah, it was 6 geese a laying. Gotcha! (Notice we didn't make six though...but you get the idea!)
This is a really simple one (I do say that a lot, don't I?). I drew an approximate goose shape free-hand on white craft foam, using this template as an a guide. The first one was a poor lop-sided fellow, but the second one was a bit better. Then I used orange craft foam to cut out a beak and feet. With 2 dots for eyes he was one done goose!

He would have looked cute with a couple of googly eyes, I'm thinking. (Of course, I think everything looks cute with googly eyes!) But, alas, our supply has run out. We go through those googly eyes like normal families go through tissues!

I was glad I finished and took a photo quickly, because when Kay was finished making eyes on her own creation, she decided to draw angry eyebrows on my goose and have him sticking his tongue out. Her and her father also like to go through magazines and add mushtaches and other silly accessories to people. Did I say I had one kid? It's like a have two!
