Kay is always looking for something to munch on, and of course I like to have healthy ideas ready to go for her. I saw this idea at Mess for Less. I cut an apple into cubes (I left the skin on) and Kay put them in a plastic baggie. Then she scooped 1 teaspoon of a cinnamon and sugar mixture and poured that into the bag.

Finally, she zipped it up and...shake time! We had fun with that, randomly calling out, "Shake it over your head! Next to your feet! Jump in a circle!" By the time she was done, it was VERY well-mixed.
And then for the taste-test. And...yes, it's a winner!
And then for the taste-test. And...yes, it's a winner!

We still had the core left over, so I asked her how many seeds she thought would be inside. She had 2, I said 7. We wrote down our hypothesis, and then cut open the core to find the answer. One! Just one. Well, now we had to compare it to something. So I cut up another apple for me, we made our guesses (this time she guessed 74!) and in this apple's core we found 8. I asked her which was more? Who came closer? Then we took time to look at the star-shape left over after cutting the apple's core in half. Tastiness and learning, all in one day!
Now it's time for the Apples Blog Hop, created by Joy from Blessed Beyond A Doubt. Link up your post that relates to apples and visit other bloggers for some great ideas!
