Some people are, well, less-than-thrilled with homemade gifts from children. Not everyone can appreciate a macaroni necklace made with love or a heartfelt work of art that may look like just scribbles to the naked eye.
Then there's gifts like this tie-dye bag, which is one of those gifts that will actually get used. In public! Even that picky teen on your gift list will like this one. (Well, maybe...there's no promises with teens!)
I wish I had some pictures to show you of the process, but I actually didn't think to take any while we were doing it. Truth it, I never expected it to come out so great!
Fortunately, it's really simple.

* Canvas tote bag
* Bleeding tissue paper
(Make sure it's the bleeding kind. Otherwise you'll just be dripping water on tissue paper squares for nothing. Yep, been there.)

* Eye dropper
* Small bowl of water
* Cardboard (optional)
First things first...wet the tote bag. Wring out any excess water, but you want to keep it moist.
Cut the tissue paper into squares if they didn't already come pre-cut. Then arrange them on the bag where you want them. (Note: If you're worried about the colors bleeding through to the other side, it's a good idea to put in a piece of cardboard between the layers.) Next, drip some water onto the tissue paper.

When it's dry, the tissue paper will peel off easily and you'll be left with one awesome tie-dye-looking bag. Who on your gift list would love one of these?
