It's art. And it's big.
(Forgive me - I get my odd sense of humor from my father...)
What is "big art"?
It's that kind of art that uses the jumbo-sized paper, where you have to use your whole body to reach the whole thing it. Stretching, moving around, reaching to the other side. It's a more active kind of painting - and so it's one of Kay's favorites, of course!
This one was particularly easy - I just hung up a large sheet of paper, set out the paint, and let Kay decide what to do with it. I put out paint brushes, too, but as you can see, those lay forgotten in favor of using hands!
I love these kinds of process art activities, because she loves it and it's fun for me to watch what she comes up with. To the untrained eye, it might just be a mess. But I can always see a bit of creativity in there, too. On this particular day she was fascinated with making hand-prints. Over and over again.
And of course, no matter how big the paper, the paint always seems to stray onto the wall. This is why we always use washable paints! (A lesson learned the hard way...)
