This word puzzles are so ridiculously easy. I looked into wooden word puzzles, but they were more money than I was willing to pay. These ones, which used only things we already had, were done while I was watching TV. Super simple.
I used our alphabet magnets (that have pretty much gone untouched since last Christmas - not the best choice, Santa!) and traced simple sight words onto index cards (which will stand up better to repeated use than plain paper). I even matched the color of the magnet to the color marker I traced it in, to make it easier to find.
Kay liked them. She even wanted to make a sentence out of them. There was no "is" so she made a card with that word herself and then made silly sentences - He is bad, She is red. Hey, whatever works for you, kiddo.
