I've recently discovered the wonderful world of Crystal Light container crafts.
What? You didn't know there was a world of ideas out there using these plastic containers? Yeah, me neither, until a random Pinterest search brought up some good ones, which inspired a few of my own.

Now, I call them Crystal Light containers, but, for us, it's more like "store brand powdered drink containers". Hey, whatever works.
This month's Project: Recycle & Create is our last, and we're making gifts from recyclables. I had some of these collected (I've been storing craft supplies in them!) but they also seemed perfect for a tasty gift.
We still have candy left over that we bought after Halloween, in the fun-sized packages, and they just seemed the perfect fit for containers like these. So we decorated with Christmas stickers. I initially had a chalkboard label on it to write a holiday greeting, but the chalk markers that I was so in love with last month don't work anymore. Grrr.
Okay, back up plan. We used a "Merry Christmas" sticker from the free ones you get in the mail this time of year from organizations seeking donations. (Yay - more recycling!)
Then we stuffed the container full of candy!

With a glittery snowflake sticker on the top as a finishing touch, you have a homemade, totally frugal gift. We'll be making more of these for neighbors.
Time to share your recycled gift ideas - I can't wait to see them! Stop by and learn more about Project: Recycle & Create - and how you can join in, too!
