Disclosure:  I was compensated in exchange for an honest review of this website. I only recommend products or services on my site that I truly support.
Like many people, my family is spread across the country and we don't get to see them all that often. But they are still kind enough to want to send Kay presents for birthdays and holidays. They just don't know her well enough to know what to get. Introducing the solution: Kwickeye.
Kwickeye is "kids wishlists' with a social twist." Started by a fellow mom, it is a place where you can add items your child wants (or that you want for your child) and then share the list with just friends and family or make it public, allowing others to be inspired by your suggestions. This can solve several old-as-gift-giving problems:
  • Inappropriate gifts. Things that are just to old or too young for your child.
  • Gifts that are against your values or beliefs.
  • Duplicate gifts. ("Oh, thank you. ANOTHER set of Legos!")

It's so simple to add items to your list. Just put the "Kwickadd" button on your bookmarks toolbar and you can easily add items you see while browsing around the web, from any store online. You type in the price and the category and viola! I found myself looking for things to include on my wishlist and found several things online that I never would have found otherwise.
There is also the social aspect. People can "like" and comment on your selections, offering you their opinions. "My son loved this toy!" "My daughter uses this all the time!"

My only suggestion would be allowing brief notes to go with items you post. I wanted to add things like "She would love these when playing outside" or "This will help her practice her letters" but there was no where to put it. Of course, there is room to add comments after you post an item, so no biggie.
In any case, I sincerely like Kwickeye and it will be especially helpful when the holidays roll around (by then my wishlist for Kay will be crowded!) Check them out for yourself: Kwickeye.com or on Facebook.
