Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Jif To Go Dippers. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.
Four weeks into the school year and we have our after-school routine down. Come home, change into play clothes, have a snack, go outside and run around (and burn off that energy that's been pent up all day!).
Only Kay wants to get to the have-fun-and-play part NOW. So snacks that can be eaten on a walk to the park or on the way to an after school activity are preferred. If she had her way, it would be lollipops every day. I aim for something at least a little more healthy! Here are our go-to snacks for kids who like to go:

If she had her way, it would be lollipops every day. I aim for something at least a little more healthy! Here are our go-to snacks for kids who like to go:
- Fruit - obviously the healthiest option. I'm lucky in that Kay loves fruit so we try to always have some on hand
- Jif To Go Dippers - creamy peanut butter (or chocolate silk peanut butter - yum!) and pretzels make for a great on-the-go snack, especially when we have a class to get to (like swimming!). Our newest favorite for on-the-go!
- Apple and peanut butter - always a favorite (can you tell we like our peanut butter?)
- Apple sauce pouches or yogurt sticks - we both like these! (For an added treat, before it gets too chilly, try freezing the yogurt sticks. Kay loves them that way!)
- Raisins - easy to carry!
- Cheese and crackers - another quick and easy one.
- Muffins - I like when she takes these outside because then I don't have to worry about crumbs! Bonus points if you make them together the night before (Kay always seems to think they taste better when she's had a hand in them. We tell her homemade ones taste better because they're made with love!)
Haven't heard of Jif To Go? If you have a child in tow, they can be very helpful indeed. (Hungry child = cranky child. This also goes for husbands, I've found!) It's Jif's delicious peanut butter, conveniently packaged in single-servings that are perfect for on-to-go. There are also new Jif To Go Dippers, which come with pretzels for dipping. I'm thinking these are perfect for
- road trips
- after school snacks
- on the way to or from dance classes or soccer practice, etc.
- anytime those munchies strike and you want something healthy for the kids (or you!)
