Paper plate ping pong paddles? Phew, that's a lot of P's! (Good thing I love alliteration!)
Having a supply of ping pong balls on hand (thank you dollar store!) but no paddles - and having a sudden inspiration to play the game with Kay - we improvised and made our own (which is almost always more fun anyway!)
What we used:
- Paper plates
- Large craft sticks
- Masking tape
Using the masking tape, I added a big craft stick to the back of one of the paper plates. Then I taped another plate to the first, with the craft stick sandwiched between them. Finally, for extra support, I added some tape to the sides. Then I did it again (we needed two paddles, of course!)
Kay didn't give the DIY paddles a second though (she's getting used to my attempts at homemade ideas!) and was happy to play. I had more fun than I wish to admit - probably not so much from the paper plate paddles as from the girl I was playing with!
