When I went searching for inspiration for this month's Recycle & Create project, I found it - in droves! Let me just say, there are some lovely things you can do with magazine pages. But after giving a few of them a try - am I the only person who can't make magazine beads?! - I went back to what I do best: simple.
Using colorful magazine pages (I knew saving those old parenting magazines would come in handy someday!) I took the hole punch and made fun confetti. (This would be awesome with a shaped paper punch, but we don't have one. Yet.)
Then I set out some paper and glue - and Kay grabbed some reindeer stickers - and she got creating. Adding copious amounts of glitter glue and sprinkling on the confetti, she made a birthday card for her grandpa. (What? Don't reindeer and Christmas trees just shout "Happy birthday!" to you?)
With the leftover confetti, we sprinkled it onto contact paper and covered it with a second piece of contact paper.
I thought it would make a pretty sun catcher. Eh, not so much. But it does make for a fun craft and maybe even more so if it was cut into a fun shape!
Won't you join us in creating with old paper (newspapers, magazines, etc.) this month?
