Give Kay some marbles and she will inevitably make a new game. It seems she invents a new one every time she takes the marbles out of the box. She's one creative kiddo! (We won't mention that most of the games make little to no sense to me. No, we won't mention that at all...)
This version incorporates that new Floof we got to try, but if you don't have that on hand, play dough would work as well!
First, about this Floof stuff...it's kind of, what's the word I'm looking for? Awesome! The texture is completely unique to me but the creator, Play Visions, describes it as "looks like snow, feels like marshmallows [and] molds like clay.". Marshmallows - yes, that it what it feels like, minus the sticky.
I liked that it really is mess-free, unlike - ahem - moon sand, which sticks to clothes and occasionally skin. Floof will stick if your hands are damp, but leaves no mess with dry hands. My almost-2-year-old niece Maddie, who hates getting her hands dirty, loved this stuff because it left no icky residue.
Okay, onto the game!
Okay, onto the game!
We started out with a couple of Floof arches, to roll the marbles through. Kay asked for my help to show her how to make these. Then she added some rolls of dough to serve as a buffer for the marbles, and a flattened-out lump of Floof as an "obstacle" for them to roll over (this part didn't actually work, but she was undetered!)
Finally, she made some snowballs with the included molds for decoration and the marbles were ready to roll.
We had fun playing with Floof and it has taken a permanent place on the shelf next to our play dough collection. In other words, it's a keeper!
