It's the season of planting and Kay and I are in this year! We've started some seeds in pots and the green beans are even showing signs of life. Sure, the squirrels usually get to whatever we grow before we get a chance to actually taste it, but I don't mind too much; I love squirrels!
To add a little thinking and writing practice to the playing in the dirt, I made up a little "plant journal" for Kay to use. I'm offering it here in case it will be useful to you as well!
It includes a cover (adorable images courtesy of Pixel Scrapper), one page to make a note of when you planted your seeds and what you think you're future plant will look like, another to think about what plants need to grow, and a couple of pages to record that you watered your growing plant (one thing I seem to always forget!) and what you're plant looks like on that day.
For the diary pages, we aren't using those every day. It will be more exciting to draw the plant once it starts growing!
