I'm excited to sharethis printable with you because...well, it's just so adorable!
Kay has come home from school several times with "roll and cover" type papers. They're as simple as they sound - roll the dice, and then cover the letter you get, either with a manipulative like counting bears or by coloring it in. It's such a fun hands-on way to practice numbers that I wanted to try my hand at making my own.
I got the idea for a candy corn theme after being inspired by Crafty Morning's super-adorable candy corn craft monster. So I found these adorable candy corn graphics made by Itty Bitty Teacher and knew they were perfect.
Of course, for my competitive girl, we turned it into a game. I made two copies of the candy corn sheets, different but only slightly. One of us would roll the dice and cover the number and then the other person would take a turn. Whoever covered all the numbers first, won!

The spin on this version, of course, is that we used real candy corn as the covering markers. If you'd perfer to skip over the sugary treat (and there was certainly some tasting going on!) pom poms (white, orange and yellow!) or Do-A-Dot markers would make great substitutes.
I love that these are so easy to adapt to different math skills. This one is simple number recognition, but with 2 dice it would also be great to work on subtraction and with some larger numbers it would be perfect for addition practice too.
