So when I found myself with a growing collection and needed something to do with them, I turned to creative bloggers, of course. These toys are all made from, you guessed it...shoeboxes!
I have a secret. I can not throw away a good shoebox. There, I said it. Actually, any cardboard box. They're so full of opportunity and I might need them...one day in the distant future.
Marble run with hot-glued craft sticks (if your kids are old enough they can make it themselves!) {Frugal Fun 4 Boys}
Dollhouse, complete with garage (because where else would the dolls store their cars?)
Another dollhouse - this site is in German, but I love the pictures!
A miniature Foosball table would be fun for two kids (or maybe a child and a parent!)
*Frugal Fun 4 Boys created an even easier version that looks like just as much fun!
Portable puppet theater (for on-the-go performances, of course!)
Park your cars in this car garage. Unfortunately the original blog {Lilla-A-Design} is no longer public, so the best I can offer is this pic, but you get the idea! (If not,Every Day Play fills in the blanks.)
Send the dirty cars through your own car wash! {Jennifer's Little World}
A kid-safe oven {Made By Joel} and you'll be eating more pretend pizzas than you care to imagine! A simple stove offers even more options.
This detailedschoolhouse looks like it took some time, but you must admit it came out awesome! (And now you know where Lego people go to be educated!) {Molly Moo Crafts}
DIY dinosaur feet won't withstand years of play, but they are tons of fun while they last! (We actually made these with tissue boxes, but shoe boxes would probably be sturdier!)
Catapults never go out of style (flinging things is just strangely appealing!)
A shoebox city makes a great backdrop for some pretend play. {Moon Frye}
But Kay's all-time favorite is a shoebox train! {Mother Huddle}
Are you a shoebox-hoarder too? What do your kids make out of them?
