You Need To Know About...Barnyard Book Club

I was lucky enough to win a contest recently, with the prize being my choice of a book/craft package from the Barnyard Book Club. I chose the book "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs," mostly because it was a favorite of mine when I was a kid (okay, still a favorite!).

Kay was so excited to get the package in the mail and we read the book right away. One of the things I loved was that there are suggested questions to ask for different pages throughout the book, to spark further interest and encourage the child to think about what's going to happen next. We made the craft the next day, after reading the book again. Everything that was needed to make the three little pigs out of paper cups was sent to us with the book, even the glue. And these were the nice paper cups, not the cheap ones I buy (lol). When the piggies were dry, Kay reenacted the story with them, only in her version the pigs and the wolf ended up being friends. (My little pacifist!)

There are currently dozens of books to choose from, all coming with a craft and guided questions related to the story. Most parents don't have time to search around for quality children's books, but here all the work is done for you. The cost for each is $20, including shipping. Check out their Facebook page here
I received no compensation for this post. I simply love this idea and wanted to let others who might be interested know about it. All opinions are my own.
