Some kids just love bath time. And others, well, don't.
For some kids, taking a bath is right up there with going to the dentist - NOT a favorite place. My trick is to make the bath THE place to be. Bring out some toys (boats or waterproof dolls work well) that can only be played with during bath time.
Here's some other ways to turn bath into fun time (or at least get through it without an argument!)

Bathtub paint - Shaving cream with food coloring is fun to play with - and easy to rinse away. I love all the colors Teaching Mama made!
Goggles - Might help with kids who are worried about getting water in their eyes. Plus, just stylish!
Cups - Never underestimate the power of scooping and pouring water. Add a spoon or two and you're golden!

Boats - Whether store-bought or homemade, boats are just fun. A Little Learning for Two used corks and crafts sticks and Powerful Mothering used recycled Styrofoam to make fun floating toys!
Bubbles - Sure, bubble baths are fun. But blowing bubbles in the tub may just be the kind of novelty to get through bathing without a tantrum!
Dissolving capsules - The kind you put in the water and they grow into some sponge shape. Seeing things transform is always fascinating (and maybe not just for the kiddos!).
Glow sticks in the water - The novelty on these wore out pretty quick at our house, but maybe you'd have better luck, as Meaningful Mama did!
Colored water - I was surprised how much fun it was for Kay to add a little color to the water - and so easy too! You can use food coloring, but I'm always nervous about that staining the tub, though if it's diluted enough it should be okay.
Pool noodles - Cut up into chunky blocks and they make great boats and stackers. The Jenny Evolution even sneaked in some sorting practice.
Foam shapes - Cut up shapes from craft foam. No need to be fancy - squares, triangles and circles can be made into some cool things, and besides, the highlight is just that they stick to the wall!

Water squirters - They're not just for the pool anymore! Spray bottles are also fun. My preschooler liked using the liquid hand soap dispensers when they were empty for pumping water. Hey, whatever works!
Fun soap - Some kids are enticed by the nice-smelling soaps, or if their favorite
characters are on the bottles. (You know, those bottles that cost twice as much just
because the character is on it. Yep, those are the ones I mean!) These Sud-Z
Buddys are a cute option too. They're light-up toys inside clear soap. It's rather genius.
When the soap is all used up, you have the toy to play with. May even encourage
washing (but no promises!)

They currently have [affiliate links] Ophelia Octopus and Clancey Clownfish Soap. Do I even need to say that I just love the names? Yeah, didn't think so...
How do you make the tub a more fun place to be?
