One of my goals for Kay is simply to teach her to love learning. I want her to keep that curiousity, to ask questions, to wonder. So I turn almost anything into an "experiment." We guess what will happen, making a "hypothesis" (I think she likes the fancy-sounding word!) and then test it out. This one was spur of the moment, and depending on the weather, the results will always be different. But she was still interested in the outcome.
We simply wanted to see which would melt faster - an ice cube in the water, or one left on the ground? It's summer, so we didn't have to wait long to see the one in the water won by a landslide. Shortly after that determination, Toby the poodle snatched our on-the-ground ice cube to play with. Ah, well.
