You know that funny story about the parents who buy their toddler an expensive toy, only to look on in dismay as he happily plays with the box? Well, there's a solution for that: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
Some of the bloggers who linked up last week have caught on and used this love of the simple to their advantage. By making toys out of recyclables, they're saving money, helping the earth, and letting their kids play with the box (or bag or cardboard, as the case may be!).
The Way He Plays shared some fun busy bag ideas, including DIY cylinder blocks and cardboard tubes that are perfect for young toddlers!
The Stay-at-Home-Mom Survival Guide gave a great tutorial on how to make a felt board from...wait for it...a paper bag. Kids love felt boards but I've never seen one made as frugally as this!
Finally, Best Toys for Toddlers made some colorful Christmas cookies for pretend play out of cardboard. What a fun way to play bakery!
