Olive the Other Reindeer by Vivian Walsh is one of my favorite Christmas stories - I just love the play on words.
Olive the Other Reindeer by Vivian Walsh is one of my favorite Christmas stories - I just love the play on words.
You see, Olive isn't a reindeer at all; she's a dog. But when she hears the classis Rudolph song, particularly the line about "all of the other reindeer", Olive thinks they're talking to...her. Okay, so she may not be the brightest, but she's determined and persistent and oh-so-adorable.
We made a quick and easy ornament to go with this story.
We used:
We used:
- Large craft sticks
- Brown paint
- 1 red pom pom
- Glue
- Large googly eyes
- Pipe cleaners
It's pretty self-explanatory to put together. We painted the craft sticks, glued them into the shape of a triangle and added googly eyes and that distinctive red nose Rudolph is known for. Not having any brown pipe cleaners, we used white, because Kay insisted that he just had to have antlers!
