This month for Project: Recycle & Create, we're thinking about creative ways to re-purpose grocery bags, both paper and plastic. This simple idea turns a paper bag into a card.
Now to be honest, our first project for this month was to make a plastic bag ghost. Nice, easy, just right for Halloween - seemed like a good idea. Only my poor ghost came out scary-looking. Oh, not Halloween-scary, just creepy-scary. Don't believe me?
Yes, you see what I mean. So it was on to our back-up plan!
I like to save paper bags to use as paper for painting anyway. (It's heavier than construction paper, so it holds the paint better.) But this time we tried something a little different.

Cutting out a rectangle and then folding it like a greeting card, we decided to try some flowers for decoration. We dipped a clothespin-and-pom-pom brush into white paint and stamped it onto the cards. When that was dry, we added some stems. They remind me of dandelions that have gone to seed, or "blow-y flowers," as Kay calls them.
And much cheaper than the store-bought version!

It's Project: Recycle & Create time! If you're a blogger, you can join in by adding your post that uses grocery bags below. If not, share your ideas on our Facebook page or in the comments. We love to hear from you! (Really!)
