These cute sweet treats have been floating around Pinterest. They looked easy enough so we gave them a try. Peeps + race cars? Oh, Kay was very pleased!

Our spin on it was that I wasn't going for "Pinterest-perfect." I did one as an example, and then let Kay have free reign. I'm glad I did, because, wouldn't you know, that girl has some creative ideas!

What you need:   Twinkies (or store brand alternative)
                               Marshmallows
                               Pretzels
                               Toothpicks
                               Bunny Peeps

You start off by cutting a rectangle chunk from the Twinkie, for the seat.

Cut two marshmallows in half and then stick a toothpick through the Twinkie, one in the front, one in the back.

Poke your marshmallows onto the toothpicks for wheels. Then stick in your pretzel for a steering wheel, add the bunny driver...and you're ready to vroom!

We used some frosting to make bunny Peep stick (maybe he wasn't thrilled with driving a Twinkie because he didn't want to stay in place!).

Kay came up with some great ideas of her own. She started by imitating my version, but then she wanted to add a spare tire (marshmallow) onto the back on the Twinkie car.

On her next version, she went with all the fixings, adding the spare "tire" and also some princess chewy snacks to make a princess racer!

Sure, it's a nutrition nightmare, but for a once a year treat, I think we can manage!
