Another snowy New England day. While Kay is so far still happy to just play freely in the snow, I thought I'd give her another option on this day. And if it helps with fine motor skills while she plays, well, all the better!

I added "some" drops of food coloring to water bottles - one a squeeze bottle and another a squirt bottle. Then we got dressed for the snow (snow pants, mittens, hats, boots...I miss the summer!) and she went out to color the snow.
Her favorite was the squeeze bottle, just because it was easier. She trudged around in the snow, squeezing and squirting. "Come follow my path," she'd call to me as she made a colored line in the snow. Um, no. I didn't have the boots and snow pants and stayed right where I was, shoveling (and taking the occasionally picture of course!) (Okay, more like taking pictures and occasionally shoveling!)

Tips: I didn't use yellow food coloring for obvious reasons (yellow snow, anyone?). I used red, but that, to me, looked too much like blood. Next time I will stick to blues and greens!
