After my bout of making liquid watercolors from old markers, I had a bunch left over and some of it was starting to get moldy. (And now I see the downside of this homemade watercolors - they are not made to last indefinitely!) So when we got a warm-ish day, I set the different colors in containers and squirt bottles for Kay to play with. I also found various sizes of medicine droppers that I left out for her to use.
When she stepped out of the house and saw all the colors lined up I heard her say, "Wow!" She instantly got to work, mixing this, adding that. She loved using the medicine droppers as pretend syringes.
After awhile of that she pretended she was a "bad witch" and was making a potion to turn people into toads! Eek! She asked me, "Doesn't it smell evil?" She tried to do a mean voice and a cackly laugh, but she's just too cute to be believable as evil (I didn't let her know that though!)
